Ms. Kim Recognized as FCPS Cares of the Month Recipient!
March's Region 5 FCPS Cares of the Month
Congratulations to Linda Kim who was recognized as the March FCPS Cares Recipients of the Month for Region 5 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Kim!
Below is the write up submitted by Stephanie Poumade, a colleague at Frost.
Linda is a hard-working, caring, and very intelligent person who works as an instructional assistant in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Center at Frost Middle School. She is a role model to our students and an incredible support to our staff, myself included. Linda is observant of the students whom she supports, often relaying classroom observations to the case managers, department chair and social worker. Linda willingly provides gently worded constructive criticism to help further develop the ASL skills of the non-native ASL communicators in our program. Linda took it upon herself to learn the Cued Speech communication modality so that she can openly communicate with the students who “cue,” and so she could ultimately better support their needs in the classroom and in our Deaf/Hard of Hearing Office. Since her arrival to Frost a few years ago, Linda has participated in our panel of DHH adults sharing her personal experience and wisdom so that students can better understand their own experience in the world and help to shape their future. Linda always comes to work with a “can do” attitude and is willing to help out, however, is needed. I am forever grateful to have her on my team.
