This Week at Frost May 4
Dear Frost MS Students and Families,
I want to start off by stating how proud I am of everyone at Frost Middle School! You guys exemplify what it means to be dedicated, responsive, and flexible given all of the challenges you may be experiencing during this time. As I said Thursday night, there are no more dedicated professionals than we have at Frost! I truly believe that as I have been in multiple places in FCPS and I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else! I have heard from teachers, students, and families that are very thankful and excited about the promise of synchronous capabilities. I am hopeful that it works next week, because for those students who had the opportunity to connect virtually with teachers, it was extremely impactful!
The next Virtual Parent Coffee will be next Tuesday, May 5th at 11 am. The last one was extremely productive and informative! Thanks again to the leadership of the Frost MS PTA for their work in collaborating with us to get this started! The link is provided below.
All the best this weekend! As always, "Work Hard, Be Nice, and Widen Your Circle. We are #ONEFrost!"
In Other News
We have scheduled Mondays between 10-12:00 PM for laptop/Mifi switch out/repair days. Please use the following link to schedule an appointment: signup genius Make sure you have your child or their log in information with you when you come as the laptops will need to be logged on to our network before you can take it home for use.
To adhere to the health guidelines put forth by the Fairfax County Health Department, we must have appointments 15 minutes apart from each other. Also, per the health department guidelines, the student and their family members must be able to answer “NO” to the following questions the day of your scheduled appointment.
Please be honest in your answers as it protects both you and our tech repair team. Should the student, their family or the tech repair team answer “YES” to any one of these questions, the appointment will need to be rescheduled. If you need to reschedule, please use the link above to change your appointment date/time or email us for additional information at @email

Check out this cool video from some of Deaf and Hard of Hearing staff members! It was a hit at “virtual school”! Share it with students. Frost Middle School is a county cluster site for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. You will see one interpreter using American Sign Language and the other using Cued Speech Language! The interpreters mimic the world that our students experience for about 30 seconds before the sound begins on the clip. Cool!
Performing Arts Showcase
The Performing Arts Department at Frost knows that many of our students are missing the chance to perform. They have offered the opportunity for student to do just that! Students can perform vocal solos, instrument solos, monologues, musical solos and dances. Submissions are due Friday, May 22nd. Please join the FlipGrid Class https://flipgrid.com/lee8696 .
FROST Virtual After-School Activities
FCPS Middle School After-School has put together several virtual after-school activities to engage middle school students in the arts, music, STEM, physical fitness, cooking, games, puzzles, literature, and more – things students can do at home.
Frost students can access these virtual after-school activities by joining the "FROST MS After-School @ Home" Google Classroom. The classroom code is: krdmmx3
Once your student has joined the classroom, there are a variety of activities (topics) they can choose from in the "Classwork" tab. We hope your students enjoy this site, and that it helps them actively pursue their interests during this time of social distancing. If you or your student have ideas for other activities, please email your @email or use the "FCPS MS @ Home Interest Form" located on the classroom home page.
Be Safe! Be Active! And know that we are here for you and your family!
